Decide How They’ll be Involved

To best plan to work in your dog for your photos start with deciding on what moments they’ll be included in. There are some great opportunities throughout the day to snap some photos with them so consider what is important to you - have them in your getting-ready photos, first look, ceremony, or in your portraits. To help narrow down what part(s) may be best, consider your dog's energy level and temperament and also check with your venue if dogs are permitted.

Designate a Helper

You’ve got a lot going on the day of your wedding so assign someone to be the person to take care of the dog and make sure they’re where they need to be whether that person is a family member, in the bridal party, or an external vendor who is a pro.

Accessorize Them

This is a big day for your pup! You’re going to look and feel your best and your dog should too. Treat them to grooming and consider how they may be dressed day of; this doesn’t mean they need a full-on outfit, but a bandana and/or a nice new collar and leash.

Incorporating your dog into your wedding day not only adds a unique and heartwarming touch to your photographs but also symbolizes the unconditional love and companionship they bring to your life. At Heartfelt Studio, we believe that a family is defined by those who share your heart, and capturing these moments with your furry friend will undoubtedly create memories to cherish for a lifetime.
